Job Description Summary
Summer Tennis Instructor will work during the Penn Tennis Center camps. Serve as ambassador for Penn Tennis Center through promotion of summer camp and fall programs.
This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about tennis
and enjoy working with children in a camp setting. The instructor will work closely with teaching professionals to assist students in developing and improving their tennis skills, focusing on court management and safety. The role also involves implementing game plans established by the teaching professionals, ensuring that campers have a safe and enjoyable experience. In addition to on-court responsibilities, the Summer Camp Tennis Instructor will assist with aftercare duties, which include checking in campers for aftercare and confirming that parents or guardians have signed out each camper. The instructor will supervise both on-court and off-court activities for all campers waiting for pick-up, ensuring a smooth transition for parents and children alike. The camp instructor will also assist tennis instructors in supervising campers during lunch and other off-court activities, contributing to a well-rounded camp experience. The role requires the instructor to help set up the camp for daily activities and clean up all equipment at the end of each day.
This position is part-time, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, typically from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential early drop-off and late pick-up responsibilities.
Job Description
Responsibilities
+ Working with teaching professionals during Penn Tennis Center Summer Camp.
+ Assisting students in developing and improving various tennis skills.
+ Focusing on court management and safety.
+ Implement game plans established by teaching professionals.
+ Assist with aftercare duties following summer camp. This includes but is not limited to checking in campers for aftercare and confirming that parents/guardian have signed out each camper.

+ Help set up camp for daily activities and clean up of all equipment at the end of each day.
Qualifications
Participation in United States Tennis Association (USTA) junior tournaments and/or played high school tennis. Teaching experience is preferred but not a requirement. Current and former high school tennis players are also eligible and/or individuals that have had experience working with children. Must be a self-starter, an energetic personality, and enjoy working with children.
The work schedule will be Monday through Friday 9:00am-3:00pm. Summer Tennis Instructors may be required to arrive for an early drop off 8:00am and/or stay for late pick-up from 3:00-6:00pm.
Pay Range from $15 - $55/hour
