Work is performed under the general direction of the Early Learning Manager. Continuous supervision is exercised over Educational Assistant.** This job posting is open until May 1. BCCS Core Values -Written on a foundation of student voice, our district core values communicate the culture and character of Brooklyn Center Community Schools. + We stand front and center + We demonstrate passion, pride, and perseverance + We acknowledge and disrupt oppressive systems + Our diversity fuels learning + We fiercely lead in justice-centered educated Essential Job Responsibilities: + Support District Strategic Plan and District Early Learning Program Philosophy + Create and maintain a developmentally appropriate, center-based classroom environment for students. + Create an emotionally responsive, caring, positive, and accepting environment supportive of the individual development of each child and family. + Develop and implement rigorous, integrated, developmentally appropriate, and comprehensive curriculum plans that promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of preschool children. + Supervises students to ensure a safe, supportive, culturally responsive, equitable, and welcoming learning environment. + Monitors, advises, coaches, and supports student behavior management to ensure a safe, supportive, welcoming learning environment. + Adapts teaching materials and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students. + Integrate MN Early Learning Standards (ECIPs) into instructional plans. + Administers and supports early childhood screenings. + Works with ECSE staff to coordinate the implementation of individual programs for students with special needs + Implement established classroom behavior guidelines. + Assess and monitor children’s progress, maintain appropriate records; prepare progress reports. + Communicate with parents regarding children’s development Plan and implement parent engagement opportunities Maintain professional competence through in-service education and self-selected professional books and instructional materials. + Attends meetings, workshops, in-services, special events and training as required. + Participate in curriculum development programs and faculty committees as required. + Assisting with program outreach and community events. + Other duties as assigned. The clinic offers all of the primary care services you would expect from a family physician/general practitioner. + Good Human Work: Therapy as Needed program Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred: + Bachelor's degree with coursework in education, or related field and minimal experience teaching or planning curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Must hold a valid Minnesota Early Childhood teaching license. + Comprehensive knowledge of child development and early education theories, principles, and practices. + Thorough knowledge of effective teaching principles and methodology + Thorough knowledge of school and district rules, regulations, and procedures + Good judgment and decision-making. + Ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior; ability to articulately deliver information both orally and in written form. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents. + Ability to relate and communicate effectively with people of different cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. Physical Requirements: Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and exposure to bodily fluids; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
