Role and Responsibilities
Public Affairs Division
We are actively recruiting for internships and externships for Samsung Electronics America public affairs, which supports various business priorities. This position is located in our Washington, DC office.
At Samsung Electronics America, we provide our interns with real-world hands-on knowledge alongside application. Experience will transcend beyond classrooms, and you will see how processes and business strategies come into life.

Role and Responsibilities
Support government affairs/relations activities including research, public policy projects, and communications
Conduct research on organizations, issues, trends, case studies, federal legislative and political agendas, public policy issues, and regional events
Assist staff with legislative, regulatory, and consumer group issues, attend legislative hearings, and provide hearing coverage with follow-up report writing
Identify thought-leadership, panel, and speaking engagement opportunities for Samsung leadership
Work with the events team to plan and execute events within the Samsung DC event space
Work with the strategic communications team to pitch media, identify opportunities for storytelling
Execute operational tasks through collaboration with internal cross-functional teams and stakeholders, as well as external partners
Develop communications and marketing materials to support lines of business
Skills and Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop and/ or other common marketing-related applications will be an advantage
Good planning skills and well-organized
Strong work ethic, organizational skills and attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills
Demonstrated experience building, sustaining and leveraging relationships
Inclusive mind-set and behaviors across all levels of organization
Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and act decisively
Ability to think strategically and influence teammates on multiple, cross-functional teams
Positive, can-do attitude embracing Growth Mindset
Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Political and / or public policy knowledge, interest or experience
Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
Analytical and attentive to details
Able to work independently and also in a team
Preferred:
Academic major in Political Science, International Studies, Communications, Law, History and / or Economics
