The People Strategy Operations (PSO) Workforce Analytics team analyzes workforce data to uncover trends and anomalies that help leaders make data-driven decisions and inform future initiatives and strategy. They are seeking an intern to help with project management, planning, communications, data analysis, testing and research.

Projects include:

The Business Operations, Planning, and Analysis (BOPA) Section provides operational, analytical, and strategic program management support to the division's budgeting, human resources, strategic planning, facilities, procurement, and other administrative functions. The BOPA intern will assist with updating the division’s budget, travel, and business resources dashboards using the process outlined in the standard operating procedure (SOP). The intern will perform quality assurance reviews to ensure data accuracy and analyze data to identify trends or observations. The BOPA intern will research data visualization best practices to improve how data is presented to officers, managers, and staff. The intern will update SOPs and support the development or maintenance SharePoint Online sites and Microsoft Access databases. The intern will also support the development of presentations to facilitate cross-functional learning across the division. This is a year-round internship with an expected start date in the Summer of 2024. The intern is expected to work 40 hours/week during the summer and a maximum of 20 hours/week during the school year.

About the Team

The Workforce and Workplace Management (WWM) team in the Division of Supervision and Regulation aligns workforce development strategies and talent management programs with the strategic plans and priorities of the Division and Federal Reserve Board.

The WWM team’s mission is to support strategic initiatives within SR and the System by overseeing the implementation of various Board workforce planning and human resources programs. These programs include conflicts of interest (COFI), performance management, position management, rewards and recognition, teleworking and alternative work schedule programs, job rotation programs, student internships, onboarding programs and workforce analytics. Additionally, WWM's role focuses on providing strategic consultation to SR management team(s) and ensuring that these programs are implemented based on industry best practices and in line with the Board's policies.

About the Role

The WWM team is seeking a year-round graduate student intern to help support and manage several projects, research and administrative work in the Division of Supervision Regulation. The intern will primarily focus on the administration of the conflicts of interest (COFI) program. This is a great opportunity for a graduate student with an academic focus in law, finance, public policy or public administration. The selected individual will complete assignments pertaining to conflicts of interest and all aspects of an embedded talent management team.

Responsibilities include:

Provide support to the cross-sectional Conflicts of Interest (COFI) program.Assist the program manager and designated ethics officer in addressing specific conflicts of interest and compliance matters within the Board and Federal Reserve Banks.Support the administration of ethics and conflicts of interest training and maintain necessary training materials, procedures, FAQ’s.Support the review of confidential financial disclosure reports and related documents and assist financial disclosure filers to ensure reporting requirements are understood and necessary information is reported accurately.Process credentials for staff conducting bank examinations/inspections and facilitate conflicts checks for Board and Federal Reserve Banks.

The position is with a team that has a high degree of exposure to the Supervision function and SR division.

About the Team Internship

The RBOPS Technology Lab (TechLab) delivers expertise on payment innovations to Federal Reserve decision makers by researching and conducting hands-on experimentation with technologies broadly relevant to payments, clearance, and settlement. The year-round TechLab intern will support the team’s ongoing payment technologies research work. Potential projects would focus on topics such as blockchain technology, digital assets, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and data analysis. Specific projects will depend on the intern’s knowledge and academic areas of interest. The TechLab expects that the year-round intern will contribute written work and some code product (i.e., Python, R, or JavaScript) as part of their assignments.
