This Summer Tax Internship provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in corporate taxation while developing key analytical, problem-solving, and compliance skills. Interns will work alongside experienced tax professionals, gaining insight into income tax, sales & use tax, research, and tax planning. This role is designed to offer exposure to real-world tax processes, helping interns build a solid foundation for a future career in tax, accounting, or finance.

 

This internship will provide an opportunity to:

Gain practical experience in tax compliance, research, and financial reporting.Develop skills in data analysis, reconciliation, and tax preparation.Learn about sales & use tax, income tax, and regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions.Collaborate with tax professionals, controllers, and external service providers.Enhance Excel proficiency and gain exposure to SAP and other financial systems.Strengthen problem-solving and communication skills in a corporate setting Responsibilities Assist in gathering and analyzing monthly sales tax data from business divisions and IT teams.Support the preparation of data for income tax filings, business licenses, and annual reports.Prepare and reconcile monthly tax account reports using Excel.Monitor the tax compliance calendar to ensure all filings are completed on time.Assist in compiling data for personal property tax returns managed by external consultants.Help respond to tax notices and information requests from federal and state tax agencies.Prepare miscellaneous tax returns and business licenses as assigned.Maintain and manage the resale certificate database.Participate in special projects and tax department initiatives to gain broader industry experience. Qualifications Junior or Senior in college pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Strong interest in tax, accounting, and financial compliance.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Summer Internship Details:

Compensation: The hourly rate is $17/hr. Duration: The internship program spans approximately 10 weeks, running from June 2nd to August 15th, 2024.Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position, requiring interns to be in the office in Montvale, NJ, four days a week (Monday to Thursday), with Fridays designated for remote work at the manager's discretion.  Transportation: Since the office location in Montvale, NJ, is not accessible by public transportation, interns must have reliable transportation.Housing: We do not provide housing or a housing stipend for interns.Work Visa: Unfortunately, we do not offer work visa sponsorship for this role, including participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.
