Summer Program Family Therapist - Camp Wediko

Camp Wediko is hiring temporary Family Therapists to support their Windsor, New Hampshire location. Position is a combination of remote work, and in person work at one of the Boston based clinics and at the Windsor, New Hampshire campus. Camp Wediko is a six-week residential summer camp serving youth with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges ranging in age from 8-18. The Family Therapists work under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and Program Director. The Family Therapist is responsible for providing clinical support to families of children enrolled at the Wediko Summer Camp. The Family Therapist provides direct service to assigned families through weekly phone calls or meetings, support groups, and individual sessions.

How You'll Be Making a Difference

Conduct weekly individual sessions via phone, video, or in person for assigned families. Support caregiver self-reflection, skills development, and psychoeducation Participate in weekly team supervision meetings with Clinical Manager Maintain clinical documentation in database Visit the New Hampshire campus at least three times during the summer. Visiting on Visitor’s Day is strongly encouraged. Develop family-based goals connecting past struggles and utilizing observed successes at Camp Wediko. Collaborate with Clinical Supervisors and other collaterals about the progress of the family and youth. Utilize a trauma informed approach. Provide coaching and support for caregivers navigating their child being away from home with limited opportunities for communication home. Provide ongoing administrative functions, including client documentation, and end of the summer discharge paperwork related to the treatment and care of assigned families. Attend and participate in ongoing program leadership and planning meetings.

Qualifications

Completion of an advanced degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related human services field. Prior camp work experience, Camp Wediko experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to approach challenges in a supportive and creative manner. Adaptability in an ever-changing work environment. Familiarity with and ability to use Microsoft Office Programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word to carry out essential job functions.
