Day Camp Counselor/Worship Specialist assists the Family Ministries Children’s Coordinator in the oversight and leadership of the Day Camp worship program to nurture spiritual growth through worship as well as is responsible to model a genuine Christian lifestyle to primary youth, safeguarding camper’s safety and well-being while befriending campers to nurture spiritual growth through program activities and curriculum in a manner consistent with Mount Hermon’s mission, vision, and values.
General Qualifications:The Day Camp Counselor/Worship Specialist is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships, and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon’s mission, vision, and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating, and leading Mount Hermon’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.
Key Job Accountabilities:
Lead, organize, and manage the Day Camp worship program including worship sets for Day Camp Band, Tuesday Morning Songs, and Luminaria Help kids encounter God and others by partnering with the Day Camp team in all aspects of discipleship; implementing Day Camp curriculum within small and large groups. Responsible for the welfare of campers through guidance and supervision of Day Campers Implement a variety of camp activities and curriculum, as instructed by the Leadership Team. Lead and assist in crafts, music, drama, group games, etc. Share in the responsibility of keeping camp areas, including workspaces and supplies, clean and orderly. Participate in bonus jobs with other departments on the mountain. Attend a weekly meeting with the Family Ministries Children’s Coordinator and the Leadership Team. Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
