Position Objective:
Health Technician provides basic first aid services to conferees and staff at Ponderosa Lodge as well as maintaining reporting procedures, while seeking to minister to the whole person: body, mind, and soul, as he/she lives out faith in fulfilling Heath Services responsibilities. The Health Aid also assists in the areas of programming such as assisting with the Primary program and assisting in catering needs for the camp in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith. Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs. Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. Of strong moral character and integrity.
Key Job Accountabilities:
Reports to Healthcare Serves Administration and or Camp Nurses. Responsible to help distribute medication to campers per Medication Administration. Record (MAR) and documents date, time and then initials. Accountable to manage Healthcare Center. Assist with transportation of campers and staff to health clinic or hospital. Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor, including assistance in programming responsibilities (primary program, catering, etc.). Checks and documents AEDs, weekly. Documents each campers’ clinical encounter in Circuitree. Documents MH staff/JEMS/CILTS, etc. in Camp Health Log Medications may be at breakfast, lunch, and hour of sleep. A table to distribute medications will be set up across from Dinning Hall. Accommodations can be made for campers who need to take medications at other times. Receiving medications, HT makes an individualized zip lock bag and labels it camper’s first and last name, and cabin number. Package epi-pen and rescue inhalers in separate and individualized bags with campers and counselors name and then handed off to camper’s counselor Counselor Slips for each camper with medication includes: Counselor’s name Campers Name(first and last) Time they take their medication. Epi-pens and rescue inhalers. manages campers healthcare data compliant with HIPAA “ Need to Know Basis” Carries First Aid back pack, (Epi-pens and Benadryl) on Beach Day. Health Supervisor is available by phone as needed. Participates in Health Screening of Campers and Staff as they enter Camp and passes on to Health Supervisor all exceptions to wellness for additional screening Maintains Check In/Check out record of Epi-pen/Rescue Inhalers. HT ensures Epi-pens/Rescue Inhalers are with camper and their associated counselor or relief. Can locate, completes and distributes: Worker’s Compensation Packet (DWC-1) Employee or Volunteer non-injury or injury, Incident Report Campers insurance forms Compliant with Mount Hermon’s two person policy to off-site medical care. For Urgent Care/ER visits the HT prints /provides Camper’s insurance form, Health history/emergency contact form and parent/guardian consent (Circuitree). MAR (as needed). Weekly: Surveys Healthcare Center for supplies needed and submits Order to HT/ CC for Healthcare Administrator approval Complete and submit paperwork in a timely manner
