We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 

Summer Trainee - Portfolio Management 

to join our Portfolio Management team in the Commercial & Operations unit in Espoo, Finland. This is a full-time, fixed-term position lasting 4–6 months, starting March/April 2025. 

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing and improving our project portfolios, with a focus on strategic KONE Grow portfolio management and Business Line Transformation topics. 

In this role you will have a unique opportunity to develop your portfolio management expertise with the help of a highly experienced team. You will also have an opportunity to participate in the development of project planning and reporting tools. You will contribute to cost and project schedule follow-up and control. 

Key Responsibilities and activities: 

Analytics and Power BI Development: developing Power BI dashboard and creating different views from different data systems for follow-up and to guide and support investment decision making 

Data Quality Management: Ensure data accuracy and maintain sanity in our portfolio management tools e.g. from cost, content and roadmap perspective  

Portfolio Management Tools development and deployment: Study possibilities for user-friendly and fit-for-purpose tools, assist in possible pilot development and implementation going forward 

Improved Portfolio Management Practices: Contribute to the several improvement streams of portfolio management practices (e.g. cost allocation, resource management, business cases and benefit realization) within Commercial & Operations Business Lines and towards R&D, IT and Area organizations 

Presentation Compilation: Compile necessary presentations from various perspectives towards KONE Grow portfolio e.g. from Strategic Shifts, Area or program perspective 

Execution Follow-Up: Assist in the development and follow-up of Program execution and follow-up 

SharePoint Design: Complement with strategic Shift and portfolio management contents 

Qualifications: 

Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field 

Enthusiastic to learn and deepen your knowledge about portfolio management and investment management with a can-do attitude 

Attention to detail and a proactive attitude 

Analytical and problem-solving skills 

Potential for leadership and the appetite 

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI 

Fluency in English (both verbal and written) is required 

Excellent communication and presentation skills 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Ready for cross-team collaboration and co-creation with your colleagues 

Interested in working in a global and multicultural organization and team
