The Sup, Clerical is directly responsible for maximizing efficient operational patient flow in the Diagnostic Center as well as care coordination with other departments. This position is also responsible for supervising all schedulers and clerical workers in the department. He/she must work directly with his/her Manager regarding staffing, and other essential functions of the Scheduling Department.

Responsibilities
Coordinates and maximizes efficient operational flow with all the other departments in the medical centerResponsible for supervising schedulers and clerical staff, including schedules and PTO. Supervises the Radiology Pre-Certification department's personnel, and daily operations. Ensures the Radiology Pre-Certification department is equipped to meet the changing needs of the department. Manage and improve patient flow in the diagnostic centerWork with Management to develop and implement an ongoing patient satisfaction improvement plan. Increase and maintain Patient Satisfaction as set forth by departmental goals Increase patient throughput in Diagnostic Center Develops Performance Improvement Plans in conjunction with PI department, and Radiology Department leadership.Act as a liaison between the Radiology Department, Radiologists, HackensackUMC leaders, supervisors and physicians.Works with Manager to review department budget and make appropriate recommendations for improvement. Perform employee performance evaluations in conjunction with the department manager for clerical and scheduling personnel. Develops and maintains statistical, financial, and patient volume reports as appropriate. Maintain weekly and monthly statistics for departments located in the Diagnostic Center. Thorough knowledge of radiology and hospital information systems such as EPIC, PACS, etc. Participates in interviewing and makes recommendations in hiring new staff for clerical and scheduling personnel. Works with manager to develop and maintain safety policies and procedures. Work with building management to ensure Radiology is a safe and patient-friendly environment. Initiates coaching and counseling and disciplinary action in a timely fashion.Attends educational programs and insurance in-services as required Attends meetings as assigned by management Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day. Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), GED equivalent programs, and/or other Vocational degrees/certificates.Good typing ability. Minimum of 3 years on-the-job training, Excellent people skills Maintains a professional, courteous, patient friendly attitude at all times.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

Junior College or Business School Graduate.Supervisory experience.
