Superintendent, Baggage Handling Systems

As a Superintendent of the baggage handling with our large O’Hare Terminal 3 project, you will leverage your capacity for innovation and problem-solving to lead field operations to ensure an exceptional project is delivered Specifically, you will have oversight of the entire baggage handling/conveyer systems. You will oversee contracted work ensuring compliance with contract documents and the project schedule while also implementing a culture of safety and quality. 

Responsibilities

Lead, direct and coordinate the work of the assigned tradesManage the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with the contract documentsEnsure safety, schedule delivery, and quality of work is performed and adherence as wellDevelop and implement recovery strategies to maintain project schedule and budget, as neededCommunicate with owners and architects/engineers in connection with field issuesParticipate in the pay application review process and help to ensure gross billing projects are metLead project inspections, startup, commissioning, turnover and training process, and punchlist required for acceptance and handover of all the systemsReview owner directed changes and subcontractor change order request paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirementsKeep detailed daily records of trade contractors’ work progressWork with trade project manager to ensure all requirements are met or exceeded

Basic Qualifications

Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience7+ years of experience working on large-scale commercial construction projects Experience overseeing the installation of $50M+ baggage/conveyor systems2+ years leading, developing, and motivating teamsIn-depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and personnelDemonstrated experience leading field operations and communicating plans effectively across multiple audiences Working knowledge of applicable safety and building regulations (i.e., OSHA)Alignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: self-motivated, results-oriented, adaptable, team player, accountable, ethical, innovative, resilient, builds relationships, builds people/teams and followership, sets direction, and executes

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of construction management software platforms and tools including Procore, PlanGrid, FieldWire, Bluebeam, and P6
