The Superintendent manages the technicians that maintaining the MTA’s Automatic Fare Collection System for BaltimoreLink. This includes the mechanical, electronic and electrical The Superintendent of Fare Collections Maintenance: ? Directly supervises Fare Collections maintenance supervisors, and indirectly supervises electronic technicians, repair and other support personnel. ? Reports to the Fare Collections Chief of Maintenance. ? Generally, works a set day shift schedule, but may be required to work rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays and is subject to call-in 24 hours a day. ? Generally, works in an office setting, but is required to review and inspect work completed in all Operating environments, which may be hazardous, and to travel to various locations throughout the MTA service area as needed. ? Some work assignments may require the employees to wear protective clothing and use safety equipment. Qualifications Education : Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. This includes three years of progressive experience in transportation, maintenance, operations, or a related field, with two years of lead or supervisory experience; strong technical competence regarding equipment operation; and the ability to knowledgably discuss equipment issues with engineers, IT professionals, and equipment manufacturer representatives. * *Selective Qualification recruitments are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (knowledge, skill, or ability).
