Job Title: Commercial construction Superintendent
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our team for several basebuild projects this summer, with project sizes ranging from $4-10 million including site-work packages. The ideal candidate will have experience with public infrastructure projects such as police and fire stations, libraries, schools, and government offices.
Responsibilities
+ Plan, organize, and direct activities related to the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
+ Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods, time, and costs.
+ Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
+ Obtain all necessary permits and licenses.
+ Schedule projects in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
+ Explain plans and contract terms to field personnel, administrative staff, and other Superintendents, Laborers, and Carpenters.
+ Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations.
+ Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve complaints and problems as necessary.
+ Plan long-term project goals and verify that schedules are met and quality control is maintained.
+ Assist co-workers in any additional tasks to help meet the company's overall business objectives.
+ Apply knowledge of company policies, standards, and procedures.
+ Utilize company equipment, applications, and resources effectively.
+ Understand the AIA 17 division breakdown.
+ Apply principles of strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership in business and management.
Essential Skills
+ 10+ years of experience in the construction field with at least 6 years in a Superintendent role.
+ Experience managing both large and small projects averaging $3-5 million.
+ Experience with ground-up construction and commercial construction.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects ranging from 2 to 14 projects at one time depending on size.
+ Strong scheduling and project management skills.
+ Experience working with subcontractors and handling change orders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of building and safety codes.
+ Ability to resolve complaints and problems.
+ Experience with strategic planning and resource allocation.
+ Strong leadership and team management skills.
Work Environment
The Superintendent will manage on-site projects and oversee other team members. The role involves direct management of project activities and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. The work environment is collaborative with a strong office culture and support team. This role offers a great opportunity for advancement within the team, working on local projects with long-term client relationships.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
