Position Summary:
Directs activities of workers concerned with the construction of Houston Ship Channel Bridge by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Required Skills
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
+ Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction
+ Procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules
+ Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, safety training and orientation of new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
+ Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays
+ Confers with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce
+ Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
+ Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules
+ Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports
+ Manages Foremen who supervise craft field employees. Is responsible for this group's overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. May also directly supervise non-supervisory employees
+ Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc. Ability to relocate as needed

Education/Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a construction or engineering-related field preferred, or a combination of education and/or 5 years of construction supervision work experience
Physical Demands
+ Travel will be required to attend training and meetings.
+ Ability to sit or stand for an entire shift
+ Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.
+ Ability to lift, frequently, at least 50 pounds.
+ Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly.
Salary $100k - $162k
