Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Superintendent to oversee and coordinate our upcoming high-profile construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in heavy civil construction and commercial building, with a proven track record of managing complex projects within budget and on schedule.
ResponsibilitiesReview project proposals to determine budget, funding limitations, procedures, and staffing requirements.Establish work plans and staffing for each project phase and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.Outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project staff.Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.Prepare project reports for management and clients.Provide technical advice and resolve problems with project personnel.Coordinate project activities with government regulatory or other governmental agencies.Award subcontracts and issue purchase orders.Set up machines and equipment as needed.Manage sub-contractors and their workforce.Review estimates with the Estimator and conduct post-bid project reviews.Arrange for necessary permits, shop drawings, and submittals required by specifications.Conduct plan and site reviews with the Project Superintendent to identify potential conflicts.Negotiate, execute, and initiate all change orders.Prepare and maintain job costs on a weekly basis and review with project personnel.Monitor pay estimates and requests to ensure timely submittal.Review and approve invoices for payment.Ensure compliance with all company policies in every phase of operation.Monitor project closeout, including final quantities, change orders, and releases from agreements.Obtain letters of acceptance and conduct project performance evaluations.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and enforce them with employees and subcontractors.Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.Essential SkillsAt least 5 years of experience as a superintendent in heavy civil construction.Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction projects.Familiarity with construction equipment and governmental requirements.Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.Strong oral and written communication skills.Willingness to assume a high level of responsibility.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working on roadway/highway projects.Experience working on parks and recreation projects.Field Supervision and Construction Management experience.OSHA 30 certification.Experience in commercial construction and as a general contractor.Work Environment
Candidates should expect to spend approximately 75% of their time in the field and 25% in the office. This may vary depending on project status and task requirements. The current project involves a large-scale roadway/highway construction in North Phoenix to support new semiconductor facilities. The project is valued at $40-$50 million with a super fast track, currently in the design phase and expected to start construction by early May, with completion planned by April 2022. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67
