Job Description
The Superintendent supports the Project Manager, General Superintendent, or Sr. General Superintendent to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed in the field regarding safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Superintendent may be the lead assistant superintendent on small projects or be responsible for a specific area of a larger project.
Responsibilities
+ Primary responsibility is construction management with very little self-perform fieldwork.
+ Directly supervise a crew of carpenters.
+ Supervise the work of trade contractors in several areas of a project.
+ Enforce high safety standards, including maintaining a clean job site.
+ Manage and perform weekly safety inspections.
+ Inspect the quality of work for compliance with design standards and ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary.
+ Collaboratively schedule for individual trade contractors or areas of a project to ensure milestone dates are met.
+ Coordinate and manage general conditions work and project logistics.
+ Review vendor drawings and submittals.
+ Review details with architects/engineers and subcontractors to ensure work compliance with the document plan.
+ Review contractors' Quality Plans.
+ Prepare and distribute daily reports.
+ Resolve jurisdictional disputes.
+ Establish credibility among owners, trade contractors, and unions by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment.
Essential Skills
+ 3-4 years of experience in Commercial Construction.
+ Experience in multifamily projects is preferred.
+ Knowledge in carpentry.
+ Experience with ground-up construction (Commercial).
+ Experience managing project budgets of $8-15 million.
+ Degree in Construction Management.
+ Proficiency in construction-related software such as Bluebeam, Timberline, and Microsoft Projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to lead and drive a team to complete a project on time and on budget.
+ Experience in design-build projects.
Work Environment
The Superintendent will be on-site at an existing or new construction project for the duration of the project, responsible for maintaining a clean and safety-first work environment. Occasionally, travel to projects that are 1.5 hours away may be required, with the possibility of driving back and forth. The current project is a multi-family construction in Fontenelle Hills, where the previous building was lost in a fire.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
