Job Title: SuperintendentJob Description Our Superintendents are responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of commercial/industrial construction projects to ensure that the project is built on time, within budget, and according to design specifications. This is a key role on our project teams, coordinating work with different crafts and subcontractors, assuming responsibility for productivity and contractual performance of the project. The Superintendent maintains continual open communication with the design team, Project Manager, client, and subcontractors to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule. They may provide estimating assistance, identify design inefficiencies, and resolve issues with plans before they result in added budget expenditures. They also maintain awareness of safety rules and procedures, identify safety hazards, and implement corrective actions. Responsibilities + Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of commercial/industrial construction projects. + Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to design specifications. + Coordinate work with different crafts and subcontractors. + Assume responsibility for productivity and contractual performance of projects. + Maintain continual open communication with the design team, Project Manager, client, and subcontractors. + Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule. + Provide estimating assistance and identify design inefficiencies. + Resolve issues with plans before they result in added budget expenditures. + Maintain awareness of safety rules and procedures, and implement corrective actions. + Work extra hours, including weekends, to meet project schedules and demands. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. + At least 10 years of work experience in a commercial construction environment. + 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent leading commercial construction projects with a value of $5M or greater. + Exceptional organizational, time management, and decision-making/problem-solving skills. + Good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. + Ability to read, understand, and implement construction documents. + Ability to calculate correct concrete, stone, and lumber quantities for projects. + Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive client focus. + Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to directly supervise employees and subcontractors. + Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, P6 Scheduling, Bluebeam, and Procore. + Valid, state-issued driver’s license with good driving record. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience leading projects independently. + Experience with 1-5 million+ dollar ground up projects. + Comfortable with travel within a 100-mile radius of Nashville. + Experience with RFIs and Procore. + Must submit a resume and project list. Work Environment The regular working hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with additional hours, including weekends, as needed to meet project schedules, demands, and site emergencies. Most projects are located within a 100-mile radius of our office in Nashville. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $59.13/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
