Superintendent - EH&S/CI

To thrive as an EH&S CI Superintendent, you will lead efforts to foster a culture of safety and drive continuous improvement (CI) across our production facility. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on safety and development, you will ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while enhancing operational efficiency. You will also be responsible for implementing and delivering comprehensive safety training programs, integrating CI principles to continuously improve safety practices. Key Responsibilities:

- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain audit-ready compliance with OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations. Manage documentation and reporting.

- Production & Safety: Be involved with the daily manufacturing operations, ensuring facility and safety compliance. Lead efforts to integrate safety, health, and environmental values into all work processes.

- Continuous Improvement (CI): Lead and support CI initiatives to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.

- Inventory & Maintenance: Monitor raw material supplies and coordinate with maintenance for timely repairs and equipment upkeep.

- Training & Development: Conduct safety and operations training, including new hire orientations, refresher courses, and CI training to improve safety and operational practices.

- Incident & Risk Management: Investigate SH&E incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Manage risk assessments to mitigate hazards.

- Budgeting & Reporting: Develop and manage budgets, and regularly report on production, safety, and CI progress.

- Leadership & Communication: Collaborate with site leadership to drive SH&E and CI performance, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

Experience/Education:

- A completed high school education is required. Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or SH&E-related field, or equivalent experience preferred.

- 3+ years in SH&E roles within manufacturing, with experience in ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Lean, and TPM concepts preferred.

- Experience in implementing, managing, and leading CI initiatives, including Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen projects.

Skills & Abilities:

- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

- Strong leadership, communication, and CI skills.

- Proficiency in CI tools and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive process improvements.

- Ability to operate in fast-paced environments and lead cross-functional teams.

- Technical proficiency with MS Office and relevant software.

- Proficiency in CI tools and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive process improvements

- Proficiency in project management to oversee CI initiatives and drive operational excellence.

- Analytical skills to assess process inefficiencies and develop actionable solutions
