Job Overview:

As the Production Superintendent, you will be responsible for directing, planning, maintaining, and leading daily operations at one of Linde’s production facilities located in Columbia City, IN. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of principles and practices within operations, and will provide leadership to drive safety, compliance, reliability, operational excellence, and profitability. The Columbia City Air Separation Plants supply gaseous oxygen and argon to our pipeline customer. The site also contains liquid product storage and pumping systems that supply the pipeline backup systems. Key assets include, but not limited to knowledge of electrical distribution equipment, high speed rotating equipment, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, blowers, gas fired heater/vaporizer systems, cooling towers, glycol closed loop cooling systems, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and instrumentation. This is a front-line, hands-on operations role, which requires accessibility during off-hours (laptop and cell phone). Overnight travel requirement to support other facilities up to 15% annually.

Responsibilities:

Manage the safe and reliable operations of a multiple process operations facility in Columbia City, IN.Responsible for daily direction of two production technicians.Work with onsite team to adjust process controls to meet changing customer demand or process requirementsTraining and professional development of Columbia City production techniciansDevelops and maintains strong working relationships with Centralized Control Room, Logistics, and Distribution Management teams.Assist with annual capital and fixed cost budget development and continuous management of fixed costsManage the sites portfolio of capital and expense projectsDelivers defined goals in annual productivity improvementsDevelop, plan, and execute short-term and long-term maintenance plans to ensure reliable, cost-effective operationsCoordinates major plant maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and project activities with customer needs to minimize potential impact to product supply.Understands and ensures facility adherence to all internal company policies, programs, and standardsEnsures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements which include but are not limited to: OSHA, EPA, ISO, and DOTEstablishes and maintains relationships with suppliers, contractors, and OEMs to ensure plant is adequately supportedCommunicates and collaborates with customer, sales, and management on operational issuesEngages internal and external support teams for significant projects or technical assistancePlaces high value on team building, collaboration, and effective communications throughout the site and across the Linde organization.Reacts urgently to plant operations and corrective maintenance issues, garnering the required resources to minimize impact to customers and the businessProvides hands-on support to Columbia City team as necessary to achieve operations goalsLead/Support Root Cause Analysis of major shutdowns and equipment failures to improve future reliability
