Summary:

The Superintendent owns project performance, including safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction. The Superintendent manages the site construction schedule, budget, and daily issues. This position is responsible for the direction of crews. The Superintendent may be responsible for managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.

 

Requirements:

This individual will oversee and be responsible for the execution of the following either by their own action or by managing the task through their team of direct reports:

Manages safety of the project site and team.  Ensures completion of all weekly and daily safety related tasks, reports and protocols.Manages communications between clients, Company and subcontractors.Reviews construction schedules, advising of changes or adjustments and coordination.Participates in the overall needs via operational calls for coverage and safety review meetings.Facilitates internal and external client communications in alignment with Project Management plan.Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.  Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.  Maintains and submits training records per guidance and expectations.Participates in Construction and Plan of Day (POD) meetings as needed.Supports site team with material takeoffs, inventory, ordering and installation.Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected includes weekends and Holidays as needed.Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

Comfortable wit empowering others.Conducts timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelines.Works closely with the Apprenticeship Program Administrator to ensure comprehensive training and year-round support of our Apprentices.Mentors Apprentices regarding the technical aspects of the work and their overall understanding of the industry, interactions with supervisors, and professionalism when attending external training.Participates in the annual audit of the program from a technical perspective and guides to ensure the program meets or exceeds all requirements.Collaborates with supervisors in the ongoing assessments of each Apprentice and ensures each Apprentice receives valid and actionable feedback.Conducts quarterly training with Apprentices focusing on verification of knowledge and safe work practices.Communicates with Program Administrator and Apprenticeship committee any suggestions to improve the program and to better support our Apprentices.

 

Safety:

Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude. Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.Adheres to and ensures all site team members understand standard operating procedures.Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.  Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

 

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED, required.Electrician or Master Electrician license (or willingness to obtain within first year of employment), required.OSHA30 (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment), required.NFPA 70E (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment), required.6+ years of equivalent work experience, required.1+ year of verifiable experience as a Superintendent, required.3+ years experience working in a construction environment, required.Ability to travel 76%-100% of the time domestically, required.Valid Driver’s License, required.Advanced level of knowledge in:Safety and OSHA requirementsInterpretation of a project schedule and scopes of workPlanning and task directionAdaptability to environmentProject permitsUnderstanding environmental concepts, including permit requirementsInterpreting state rules and regulationsContract managementSub-contractor and vendor and materials managementConstruction drawing reviewDrawing Quantity Takeoff Intermediate level of knowledge in:Project ManagementCreating logical and resource-loaded project schedulesBudget Analysis and controlsEstimating work effortsChange ordersQA/QC processesDevelopment of processes and proceduresContinuous Improvements such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Total Quality ManagementProject FinanceMicrosoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, Visio)Job Costing or accounting software Basic level of knowledge in:Engineering ManagementScheduling software (MS Project, Primavera 6)Functional competencies include accountability, casting the right shadow, communication, attention to detail, and teamwork

 

Anticipated base salary range:  $134,000 - $158,000

Premium Daily Per Diem paid for food, lodging, rotational travel

 

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
