MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Working under the direction of the Supervisor, the Material Coordinator will be responsible for guiding the workflow of materials and assists answering questions from front line workers. This role requires floor presence, strong organizational skills, as well as effective communication and analytical skills.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides front line guidance to the operation to achieve prescribed objectivesTeaches and trains new associates on warehouse execution system and forklift or other equipment. Coach and mentor operators and other peers on enhancing their capabilities and increasing productivity. Exhibits strong leadership skills and promote a positive work environment to enhance warehouse operations.Escalates issues to the attention of the Supervisor or Manager and to appropriate support groups as necessary.Cross-trained and acts as SME for operation.Anticipates daily workloads and reassigns tasks and provides direction to other associates as needed.Identifies and assists in resolving compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations as appropriate while notifying appropriate personnel.Participates in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing six sigma methodologies which include working with production teams to improve quality, reduce cost and increase throughput.Seeks efficiency in system and process gaps and elevates awareness to managementMay operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or other automated equipment with appropriate training and/or certification.Performs cycle counting and material movements physically and/or systematically conducted within a controlled environment where ESD controls may exist.May process stock transfers, material requests, put-away and kitting. May load and/or unloads trucks as required.Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.Participates in on-the-job training for warehouse and manufacturing processes, corporate policies, safety procedures, GMP, ISO Standards as defined by supervisor.Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOP’s, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements.Serves on safety, quality and other committees, if applicable.QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School Diploma / GED
Experience/Background
Minimum 4 years
Experience of material handling, inventory, and/or material coordination
Forklift certification required for Warehouse organizationForklift certification preferred for Production and/or Pack organizationPreferred Qualifications:
