Responsibilities Summary This position will provide supervision and oversight of STOP Case Managers to coordinate placement assessments; discharge planning; extension requests, and delivery of case management services for Participants. This position also oversees the facilitation of participant ASAM assessments and their interpretation. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Assists in implementation of program services and activities to ensure compliance with CDCR’s administrative and fiscal regulations. Assists in development, management, and oversight of program services. Assists in ensuring the effective operation of subcontracted facilities. Directly supervises all STOP Case Managers. Utilizes the CDCR ARMS data base to audit staff case notes and adherence to case management practices. Assists in development of quality control procedures to ensure high quality service. Through regular audits and reviews ensures participants are placed into the appropriate level of care. Ensures participants are transitioning to lower/higher levels of care based upon their assessed needs. Assists in conducting staff meetings with all employees to discuss participant and program issues. May be required to manage a small caseload of participants Oversees casework processes in compliance with CDCR requirements. Assists in monitoring and developing staff training. Reviews and approves/disapproved Detox placements. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field and one (1) year experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy services to an offender population, supervisory experience with case managers or substance abuse counselors is preferred OR Associate’s degree and three (3) years of experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy to an offender population, supervisory experience with case managers or substance abuse counselors is preferred. Certification as an AOD Counselor with a certification recognized by Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). Ability to recognize the importance of family, social networks, and community systems in the treatment and recovery process. Ability to know and comply with program documentation requirements, applicable ethical and professional standards of conduct. Ability to conduct initial clinical assessments and/or evaluations which serve as the basis for diagnosis and treatment. Ability to direct services appropriate to the personal and cultural identity and language of the participant. Facilitate the Participant's engagement in the treatment and recovery process through placement in the appropriate level of care. Possess the case management skills necessary to implement the case plan, consult as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, and assess ongoing treatment planning efficacy.
