Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Supervising Engineer Electrical to join our team! In this role you will manage the electrical systems’ installation, integration, and commissioning within a Hi-Tech Manufacturing Plant. This includes overseeing the installation of power distribution, lighting, automation systems, machinery connections, and other specialized electrical systems required for a state-of-the-art industrial facility. The role ensures that electrical works are executed according to project plans, specifications, safety standards, and regulations while optimizing the plant’s functionality and operational efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing:
Oversee the installation of all electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, machinery connections, and automation systems, as well as ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems.
Ensure that all electrical installations comply with approved designs, specifications, and relevant standards.
Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure that electrical work progresses on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Work closely with the project manager, engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure that electrical systems are integrated seamlessly into the overall construction schedule and plant infrastructure.
Coordinate the electrical work with mechanical, civil, and other teams to prevent conflicts and optimize the construction process.
Participate in coordination meetings to discuss progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure smooth project execution.
Enforce adherence to electrical codes, safety standards, and local regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, NFPA) for all installations.
Inspect all electrical systems and installations for compliance with design drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure proper workmanship, quality control, and ensure electrical systems are being installed according to the highest safety standards.
Supervise the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring they meet operational and performance specifications.
Lead or coordinate functional tests, performance tests, and system integration tests for all electrical systems, including electrical panels, transformers, and automation systems.
Address any technical issues during the commissioning phase, ensuring the systems are fully operational before final handover.
Enforce electrical safety standards and practices throughout the construction site to ensure a safe working environment.
Monitor electrical works for compliance with both general and electrical-specific safety regulations.
Maintain thorough documentation of electrical work, including as-built drawings, installation reports, testing and commissioning reports, and any design changes.
Provide detailed progress reports to the project manager, stakeholders, and clients regarding electrical system installations, issues, and completions.
Ensure all required documentation is submitted in a timely manner and is complete and accurate.
Coordinate with electrical material suppliers and equipment vendors to ensure timely delivery and proper handling of electrical equipment.
Manage vendor relationships and monitor the performance of external contractors and suppliers involved in the electrical scope of work.
Oversee the final handover of electrical systems to the operations team or client, ensuring that all systems are fully functional.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Professional engineering certification (e.g., PE or PMP) is highly desirable.
Proven 10 years experience in managing electrical installations and commissioning in industrial or manufacturing plant construction, particularly high-tech manufacturing environments.
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and components, such as power distribution, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), motors, automation systems, and lighting systems.
Strong understanding of electrical codes (NEC, IEC, NFPA, etc.) and safety regulations (OSHA, local electrical safety codes).
Familiarity with construction project management tools and techniques (e.g., scheduling software, project tracking systems).
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly in the context of electrical systems integration.
Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, Revit, etc.).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience in the construction and commissioning of high-tech manufacturing plants or similar industrial facilities.
Familiarity with smart factory technologies, including industrial automation, IoT systems, and integrated building management systems (BMS).
Experience with advanced control systems, robotics, or automation used in modern manufacturing environments.
