Supervisor, Clinical Laboratory Quality

Job Description

Supervises, reviews, monitors and evaluates site laboratory staff and operational quality assurance and quality control. Collaborates in the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System. Partners with the leadership to maintain quality

Job Responsibility

• Promotes Clinical Laboratory and Anatomic Pathology Quality department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
• Leads the activities of assigned Clinical Laboratory and Anatomic Pathology Quality team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
• Together with the QM staff, ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Supervises the Proficiency Testing program at the Lab including, ordering the PTs, maintaining accurate documentation and reviews/approvals and tracking and coordinating follow-up for any unacceptable PT results.
• Enhances operational performance and quality by utilizing knowledge, judgment and problem solving skills.
• Performs audits and follows-up on findings and ensures appropriate CAPA is instituted.
• Performs related data analysis and presentations to problem solve issues. Prepare quality reports, metric data and other information to present at various venues.
• Actively participates in various quality related meetings Assists with the Quality Management Document Control procedures.

Job Qualification

•Bachelor's Degree required.
•Current License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
•4 years of technical experience, required and 0-2 years of leadership/management experience.
