About the Job Supervise daily operations of the department to include the accurate and efficient receiving, processing, and allocating, loading and shipping of all Flat and GOH merchandise activities for our stores. Reconcile receiving, processing, splitting and shipping discrepancies by working with Inventory Control, Commercial Carriers and other departments as needed. The successful candidate must be able to provide effective leadership of operational execution and planning to ensure the absolute best services to our stores. What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities · Supervision of manpower to handle all processing of merchandise and any related tasks · Participate in daily planning meetings with all functional department managers · Assist immediate manager by coordinating with other operations and departments to meet all Operational deadlines · Assist Inventory Control to resolve any discrepancies · Document and track metrics to measure efficiency of department and staff · Establish challenging individual and team goals · Assist management to develop and execute operational plans (Production and Resource planning) · Team and individual training · Assist management implement and sustain Distribution Operating software, MHE and systems to include staff training · Assist management to implement and sustain Process Improvement initiatives · Assist manager to track formal training, counseling and the annual performance appraisals · Ensure departmental best practices and procedures are used by staff What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience · Must have 2 years of experience supervising in a distribution environment · Proven ability to coach and develop employees · Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include, Excel, Word and Outlook · Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment and meet tight deadlines · Able to effectively motivate a team to accomplish common goals · Demonstrated flexibility and capability to learn in a fast paced environment · High initiative and detail-oriented · Excellent organizational skills and leadership skills · Effective oral and written communication skills · Ability to work various shifts as required · Effective training skills at individual and team level · Prior Warehouse Management software experience a plus Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands Ability to work in a warehouse environment setting with physical demands that include continuous standing, walking, sitting, use of hands and fingers, grasping, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, working and reaching overhead, using ladders or lifts, using material handling equipment, radio-frequency (RF) scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more.
