Supervisor, Electrical Maintenance

The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level._ **The impact you will have in this role:** This position will be responsible for the safe implementation of all maintenance programs and construction activities pertaining to transmission and distribution substations and their associated equipment. Responsible for the supervision and support of the union represented Electrical Maintenance staff and non-union employees. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:** 1. Responsible for the strategic deployment of resources to safely, systematically, and efficiently implement established maintenance programs and construction activities. The maintenance programs include protection system maintenance, meter testing, breaker maintenance, voltage regulator maintenance, capacitor station maintenance, motor-operated switch maintenance, battery maintenance, and others. 2. Establish departmental goals/objectives and review performance/progress. Ensure department maintains appropriate understanding of present technology and maintenance/construction methods as well as new and upcoming technology and best practices. 3. Responsible for cost center budgets, capital project review information, and applicable portions of the construction budget. 4. Responsible for the implementation, documentation and review/revision of work methods, maintenance procedures and instructional material. Work to ensure the department’s overall work practices are current with industry standards, compliance requirements and technology. 5. Responsible for setting clear and attainable goals/expectations for the Electrical Maintenance staff. Assure that substandard performance and employee conflicts are resolved. 6. Responsible for ensuring education and training for staff to meet departmental goals, departmental objectives and compliance. Also, responsible to assure that personnel qualifications are kept current with applicable standards. 7. Responsible for administering Dairyland Safety Rules and Practices within the Electrical Maintenance Department. Also, provide input into the development of the safety meeting program and provide instruction when appropriate. 8. Responsible for administering provisions of the Labor Agreement. Familiarity with State of Wisconsin apprenticeship program. 9. Responsible for departmental tooling, spare parts supply, vehicles, and equipment. 10. Act as a liaison for equipment or service purchasing partnership agreements that exist or may be formed. 11. As necessary, assist DPC members and customers with the development and execution of maintenance plans and equipment repair procedures. 12. Represent DPC on industry groups or committees relating to substation maintenance activities. 13. Perform other duties as assigned. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** **Education & Experience:** Bachelor of Science Degree in a business or technical program plus a combination of five (5) years of related required. Experience must be related to industrial/utility maintenance programs or construction projects. Must have 24-hour on-call availability. Previous leadership experience preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. **Skills:** • Computer Skills require proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at varying levels of leadership within the organization and parties external to the organization. • Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to multi-task and manage complex projects. • A thorough understanding of safe substation maintenance and construction practices and techniques. **Licenses and Certifications:** Valid Driver’s License. **Physical Demands** : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Outdoor work will occur in various weather conditions and near electrical hazards. Must be able to traverse uneven terrain.
