Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Services (Housekeeping) Supervisor for the Environmental Services Department at Morristown Medical Center. Required hours vary, including weekends and on-call.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Arrange with the Environmental Services Manager for any special activity functions such as Auditoriums and other set-up etc. Receives work assignments from the Manager. Establishes daily work schedule for the staff along with the Manager for special and routine assignments. Assigns duties to the staff, issues supplies and equipment, and inspects completed work. Works with the staff. Maintains established standards of cleanliness within patient and other hospital areas. Trains employees by demonstrating use of cleaning material and equipment; explains methods of cleaning and most economical use of materials and manpower. Participates in the performance appraisal of employees as well as personnel actions (i.e. hours changes, termination's, salary changes, etc.). Applies knowledge of all job assignments and cleaning procedures and use of equipment in the work assignment. Applies a knowledge of isolation techniques and follows up to assure that sanitation and safety regulations are followed. Coordinates the removal of trash from grounds and entrances and inspects these areas daily. Reports the need for repairs and maintenance. Follows up for completion.Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree a plus. To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to bend/lift/push/pull at least 50lbs. Must be able to be on your feet for an extended period of time.Relevant Experience:
Great customer service/people skills preferred. 1-2 years of hospital housekeeping experience/worked as a hospital housekeeper preferred. 2-3 years of housekeeping supervisory/management experience in an acute care hospital environment preferred. Strong computer (Excel, Word and Power Point) skills a must.13.Variable shift based on department needs/volume.
