Department Overview
Power Generation operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. Our nearly 1000 coworkers are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner. Our hydro facilities include 62 conventional hydro powerhouses, a pumped-storage facility, 98 reservoirs, 168 dams and more than 200 miles of canals and flumes, among other water conveyances. Natural gas-fired plants in operation are Humboldt Bay Generating Station in Eureka; Colusa Generating Station in Colusa County and Gateway Generating Station in Antioch. Several utility-scale solar generation plants also are operated and maintained, as well as PG&E’s successful entry into battery energy storage, our Elkhorn Battery facility at Moss Landing in Monterey County.
Position Summary
Leads Power Generation’s field drafting and document management teams that support the hydro, fossil and renewable energy groups with associated services throughout the PG&E territory.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $126,000
Bay Area Maximum: $200,000
&/OR
California Minimum: $120,000
California Maximum: $190,000
Job Responsibilities
Manages daily work activities; reviews and approves priorities and work products. Leads the effort to identify, analyze and improve existing business processes within a department to meet new goals and objectives. Develop a compliance culture that is accountable for decisions and provides safety excellence. Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition. Ensures effective work & resource planning and scheduling for the service territory, and ensures resources align with budget. Ensures work in assigned area is completed on time, within budget and quality expectations while adhering to safety and regulatory compliance. Monitors employees' work and schedules to ensure effective work & resource planning and cost for assigned area. Collaborates with team or leaders to work on issues, projects or activities. Acts as document steward for technical work procedures and assignments. Collaborates with team or peers to work on issues, projects or activities. Spend 10% of your time ensuring field safety by performing regular safety observations, documenting findings, and engaging with teams to identify and eliminate hazards, in alignment with PG&E's Safety Leadership standards.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience Job-related experience, 5 years Ability to travel overnight
