Job Summary: Supervises activities of housekeeping and performs housekeeping responsibilities to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and employees.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.

Work Experience: 3 - 4 years related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of ERP, Microsoft Word, Excel and Bed tracking as might be used in the preparation of correspondence and reports. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to integrate the analysis of data to discover facts or develop knowledge, concepts or interpretations. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to be detail-oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data. Ability to multi-task.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Supervises activities of housekeeping and performs housekeeping responsibilities in order to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and employees. Inspects areas for cleanliness by completing 75% of monthly q-checks, reporting maintenance deficiencies, and following up with employees and correcting deficiencies. Investigates housekeeping complaints/concerns by following up with unit managers, families, guest and patients by resolving or reporting as needed. Prepares work schedules by scheduling regular days off and PTO, scheduling assignments on a daily basis and adjust as needed and scheduling project work as requested. Prepares employee evaluations, employee disciplinary actions, conducts team meetings monthly, conducts new employee orientation and training. Ensures employee compliance on departmental policies including housekeeping cleaning procedures, proper use and care of equipment and chemicals and safe work and infection control practices. Coordinates movement of and/or moves furniture, beds, equipment (broken and repaired) upon request, and add delivers supplies to housekeeping closets as needed. Performs housekeeping responsibilities and relief coverage inclusive of occupied bed cleaning, dismissal cleaning and general cleaning. Attends mandatory in-services and participates in continuing education, seminars and other related programs.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in planning the sequence of operations and making decisions in a complex technical or professional field.

Working Relationships: Direct Supervision of others - No. of people supervised: (15-25) Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
