Position Summary

This role will be responsible for supervising and leading a group of skilled trades personnel to ensure bottling operations perform on target. Committed to achieving excellence in quality, health and safety, the environment and product safety the Supervisor, Maintenance will reinforce the Company’s vision for world-class maintenance by placing an emphasis on the quality of workmanship, efficiency of assigned work and managing the expectations of internal customers. Prioritize day to day maintenance operations to ensure the production division can run with little disruption. Duties to include managing of assigned duties and preventative maintenance tasks in the Bottling and material handling areas, as well as keeping focus on lean maintenance and continuous improvements initiatives within the maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities

OHSA - Ensure compliance of Occupational Health & Safety Act (section 25, 26, 27, and 28) per Hiram Walker & Son’s Ltd Policy- Management-Supervision-Worker Safety ResponsibilitiesEnsures compliance to all the environmental quality and safety standards related to the departmentSupports continuous improvement and root cause analysis processesLead direct reports to meet or exceed cost savings initiative objectivesSupport HACCP Policies and GMP along with technical audit requirementsFacilitate open and effective communications with other departments, ensuring optimal quality standardsPromotion and utilization of maintenance lean conceptsEnsuring the work order and timecard processes are being followed and all work orders and timecards are entered in a timely basis after completionEnsure preventative & predictive maintenance program is followed and all work is tracked.  Aid in process improvement through technical supportTrack and inspect Trades work for completeness, keeping records of all work performed via the CMMS work order systemOversee emergency breakdown repairs with the maintenance team to ensure repairs are completed in a timely mannerManpower: timely payroll reporting, control absenteeism, vacation planningEstablish a plan to shape a high-performance team; manages the development of the department's resources through training and coaching opportunitiesProfessionally manages the relationship with union members and skilled tradesMaintain zero non-conformance certification for ISO 9002Direct supervision of: Bottling Mechanics and apprenticesFinancial responsibility for M&R and Labour BudgetsInternal, regular work-related contact with Manufacturing, Central Maintenance (Coordination of trades), Industrial Relations (Discipline Procedure)External, regular work-related contact with outside vendors for materials and services

Required Skills & Abilities

Education

- Required:

College Diploma, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Trade Certificate with related work experience

- Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) Certification or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) designation
