Odysea Pharma is a pharmaceutical development and production center owned by the AbbVie group. Odyssea is designated as one of the group's centers of excellence for women's health, ensuring product development, GMP manufacturing, and quality and regulatory expertise from a custom-designed facility located in Liège, Belgium.

This People Leadership role has a direct impact on AbbVie Liège’s ability to efficiently meet commitments to customers and client organizations.

Reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing, the Supervisor will lead manufacturing employees and develop production and resource plans that meet operational goals in terms of safety, quality and output.

This position ensures and conducts proper staff training and ensures that all deliverables are met or expectations are proactively managed towards alternative solutions and communicated appropriately.

 

Your Main Duties

Helps plan and organize production: assigns work according to production needs; reviews, approves and drafts documents relevant to management of production activities; issues recommendation on production organization and make adjustments.

Keeps track of production activities: ensures supply of raw materials and components for production; check equipment availability and operational status; ensures production processes are carried out; ensures workplace safety and proper management of waste and residual materials

Manages the work team: assists in hiring of production employees; integrates new hires; coordinates production staff, employee rotation; evaluates employee performance

Contributes to follow-up of activities and training: collaborates on management processes and production processes; takes part in the validation of production equipment; participates in the training and development of the skills of production employees.

 

Your Main Responsibilities

Production Planning and Organization

Execute manufacturing schedules according to needs determined by the Planning department.Supervise the execution of batches, including monitoring timelines, raw materials, equipment availability and yields to ensure Right First Time.Applies mechanical capabilities in order to perform limited troubleshooting and expeditiously resolve equipment issues, with the support of the Maintenance Department, to minimize equipment downtime.

Production Follow-up Activities

Identifies opportunities and develops process, procedural, and training improvements and efficiencies; drives execution, and measures success.Analyses and interprets operational data for use in trending and for investigative purposes.Develops, maintains, and reports on manufacturing key performance indicators within the department.Writes and reviews SOPs, Work Instructions, and On-The-Job training modules for content, clarity, and executability.Reviews manufacturing documentation and procedures for clarity of instruction and ability to execute on the floor; collaborate with others to adjust as appropriate

Management of Production Employees

Directly leads a team of approximately 25 direct reportsProvides manufacturing training and leadership for subordinate manufacturing positions.Sets the example for strict GMP adherence; ensures requirements are understood and executed appropriately by subordinates.Responsible for driving a culture of Safety in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Environment.Embodies our company values.
Qualifications

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Science (biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, pharmacy) or engineering (chemical engineering, mechanical engineering) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environmentTwo to five years of relevant experience in a similar position in the pharmaceutical sector or a related discipline.Proficiency in French is mandatory. Good knowledge of English is needed.
