Position Summary:
The Royal Caribbean Group’s Celebrity Trade Sales & Service Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Supervisor, MICE ( Meetings, Incentives, Charters) & Strategy Products reporting to the Lead, Strategy Analysis Guest Sales
Assist in planning, directing, and managing a $100 million plus business portfolio and the day-to-day operations and performance for a defined segment of Celebrity Trade Sales and Service business, and Strategic Product and MICE teams. Assist in developing and modifying operational plans, sales development plans, performance measures and standards for the department. Responsible for assisting in managing all aspects of these areas, including hiring, developing, and coaching employees, establishing and achieving strategic goals, objectives, and measurements, monitoring team and individual performance, managing tools and technology, and driving measurable improvements to customer service, operating efficiencies, and costs. Responsible for the day-to-day management of all operational activities performed in the area including qualifying and booking new groups and reservations, maintaining cabin, air, and hotel inventory, coordinating onboard activities, processing payments and reconciling accountings, and developing and managing the overall relationship with the external customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in planning, directing, and managing a $100million plus business portfolio and the day-to-day operations and performance for a defined segment of Celebrity Trade Sales and Service business, and Strategic Product and MICE teams Assist in developing and modifying operational plans, sales development plans, performance measures and standards for the department Continuously identify opportunities to improve operating efficiencies, customer service, and profitably Develop revenue reports with the necessary metrics that monitors goal achievement and future growth expectations Diffuse critical customer (guest and travel partner) situations Manage key relationships and partnerships with Sales, Revenue Management, Hotel Operations, and all other key departments to ensure holistic success of the department and brand Collaborate with the Lead of Strategic Partnerships and Lead of Strategic Analysis and MICE to establish the vision, objectives, and strategies for the department Perform special projects to improve brand revenue and performance Responsible for assisting in managing all aspects of these areas, including hiring, developing, and coaching employees, establishing and achieving strategic goals, objectives, and measurements, monitoring team and individual performance, managing tools and technology, and driving measurable improvements to customer service, operating efficiencies, and costs Responsible for the day-to-day management of all operational activities performed in the area including qualifying and booking new groups and reservations, maintaining cabin, air, and hotel inventory, coordinating onboard activities, processing payments and reconciling accountings, and developing and managing the overall relationship with the external customer. Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in house policies to maintain the companies legality and business ethics Serves as the liaison for Celebrity Galapagos Operation Team and Celebrity MICE Operation Team, Onboard Revenue, Celebrity Vacations Support Team, Global Tour Operation, and Hotel Operations for the Galapagos products and MICE team for North America Trade business Support the development of effective business relationships with external customers Travels regularly to support large MICE groups onboardQualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or three to five years of related experience and/or training required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years of management experience preferred. Previous experience needed in supporting/interfacing with key Hotel Operations, Revenue Management, and Sales personnel, as well as key external customers to continuously identify core service delivery issues, develop resolution processes, and identify opportunities for service improvements and efficiencies. Strong background in achieving revenue goals, managing sales and operations programs, and possessing a strong technology background with automation to enhance sales achievements and staff efficiencies. Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies and tactics, maintaining high staff morale, and infusing staff with energy. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, legal documents, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, groups of managers, employees, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to work, interact, and communicate with external/internal customers at all levels. Ability to build and maintain successful business relationships throughout the department and the company as a whole. Ability to elicit peak performance from staff members. Familiarity with AS400 or equivalent reservations system preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and BRIO required.
