****Eligible for $5,000 New Hire Sign On Bonus**** **Job Purpose Statement:** **The CRNA Supervisor supervises nurse anesthetists ensuring safe and effective patient care. Serves as a role model and expert clinician. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources.** The supervisor schedules and coordinates the activities of the nurse anesthetists engaged in administering anesthetics to patients during surgical procedures. Monitors the effects of specific anesthesia, drugs, techniques, and patient reactions. Develops, recommends, and implements procedures pertaining to the administration of anesthetics. Requires certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). The CRNA supervisor works as a liaison between CRNA staff and perioperative departments, nursing and other staff. **Essential Functions:** + Provides direct patient care while performing supervisory, administrative and leadership duties. + Prepares and reviews works schedules, adjusts staffing to meet daily patient care needs. + Assists in the development of policies and procedures and sets standards of care within the overall standards of anesthesia and nursing departments to meet federal and state regulations. + Reviews educational and clinical training programs for CRNA staff and identifies staff development needs. May provide clinical instruction to medical students and SRNAs. + Monitors compliance with state and federal regulations governing provision of care. Ensures CRNAs follow patient care protocols. + Works in conjunction with CRNA manager with recruitment, interviewing and selection. + Evaluates performance and completes performance reviews. + Administers collective bargaining agreements and staff personnel policies. Assists with problem identification and resolution. Directs corrective and disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. + Serves as liaison between CRNAs, nursing, ancillary staff, and administrative staff regarding policy, operational, clinical practice issues. + Participates in the evaluation of new clinical equipment and /or IT clinical systems. Assists in development of new workflows. + Represents department on committees as assigned. + Schedules CRNA¿s to optimize staffing. + Reviews and completes payroll + Ensures competencies are completed and up to date for each employee **People Leadership Responsibilities:** + Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. + Functions as advisor to unit and administration. **Financial Responsibilities:** + Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. + Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives **Technical Knowledge** + Knowledge of business software, specialized applications and data management systems used in clinics / clinical departments. + General knowledge of medical terminology. + Advanced understanding of anesthesia and other critical nursing skills. + Demonstrated patient care skills. + Knowledge/experience with clinical & billing documentation in an Electronic Medical and Anesthesia Record (preferably Epic). **Minimum Education** : Graduate of an accredited program granting a Master's Degree MSN with a focus in Nurse Anesthesia; MS, MSHA, MSNA welcome. DNP preferred. **Minimum Experience:** + Minimum 7 years Advanced clinical experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist providing direct patient care. Experience as a clinician in a tertiary academic medical center serving a pediatric population preferred. + In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards, systems, external regulations and internal policies. + Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively supervise clinicians, manage complex workflow and multiple priorities. + Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and problem-solving with all levels of management and staff + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Working knowledge of human resources management practices and policies. + Demonstrated ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document CRNA performance. + Demonstrate current competency by showing evidence that the clinician has provided anesthesia services for at least 2000 hours in the last twenty-four months. **Additional Minimum Requirements:** + **Current California license as a Registered Nurse** + **Active CA Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist license** + **Certification by the Counsel of Certification of Nurse Anesthetists or by a predecessor or successor** + **Active American Heart Association CPR certification for healthcare providers** + **Active American Heart Association ACLS certification** + **Active American Heart Association PALS certification** **Physical Requirements:** + **Sit: Up to 3 hours/day** + **Stand/Walk: 6-8 hours** + **Bend/Stoop: Up to 3 hours** + **Reach: Up to 3 hours** + **Rep Use of UE/Grasp: Up to 6 hours** + **Lift/Push/Pull: 25 lbs, over 25 lbs with assistance or equipment** + **This job requires the ability to hear alarms, clients and/or instruction and the ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20 feet.
