The pay range for this position is $39.25 - $61.36.
The shift is Monday through Friday 3p to 11:30p. Some administrative call coverage required.
Position Summary:
The Supervisor, Nursing represents hospital and nursing administration in their absence and participates in Nursing Department leadership, education and research activities. The Supervisor, Nursing serves as a clinical resource for nurses and assists in the interpretation of policies and procedures to all hospital personnel.
Essential Functions:
Actively strives for patient satisfaction.
A. Communicates with patient, family and healthcare providers regarding patient care demonstrating strong communication skills.
B. Serves as an advocate for patients and family in the clinical management of care.
Confers with leadership team and professional staff to enhance delivery of nursing care.
A. Assumes a collaborative role in staffing and scheduling of personnel, considering appropriate utilization of personnel considering scope of practice, competencies, patient needs and complexity of care.
B. Seeks to support a professional practice environment which fosters “excellence in nursing services”.
C. Fosters professional nurse empowered decision‐making, accountability and autonomy in nursing practice.
D. Acts as a consultant regarding clinical, administrative or legal aspects of patient care. Confers with the administrative person on call when necessary
E. Demonstrates age specific communication skills for all ages.
Fulfill professional role expectations and requirements.
A. Demonstrates knowledge and makes appropriate interpretation of nursing, medical and administrative policies and procedures
B. Provides, maintains and coordinates effective communication between nursing and other departments.
C. Maintains confidentiality while serving as a professional liaison with the community.
D. Functions as a mentor for development of nursing staff.
E. Promotes activities that assist others, as appropriate, in becoming informed about costs, risks, and benefits of patient care delivery.
F. Participates in professional continuing education programs and meets the current nursing standards for hourly credit.
G. Participates in nursing committees, performance improvement activities and initiatives.
H. Maintain CPR provider status, trauma certification, HIV counselor status and remain proficient in ACLS and PALS via certification in each. Participates in patient placement coordination to ensure acceptance and placement at the appropriate level of care thereby supporting the goals of the Robert Packer Hospital.
Participates in risk management and crisis intervention.
A. Acts as liaison to patients and/or families in times of crisis.'
B. Responds and assumes appropriate role in emergency codes/crisis intervention.
C. Follows through with incidents that have occurred within the hospital by directing them to the appropriate resource.
D. Addresses Employee Health incidents appropriately.
