Supervisor, Outreach Phlebotomy South Region, Full Time

Responsible for supervising the routine operations of Phlebotomy staff. Ensures appropriate policies and procedures are followed by the Phlebotomy team. Works with Manager, Lab Support Services to oversee scheduling in an efficient manner and ensures trainings are conducted in regular intervals to provide phlebotomy services satisfactorily and within local, state, and federal regulations.
Southern Region supervisor to be assigned sites in Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Ocean and Burlington Counties.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Administers the Outreach Phlebotomy team and oversees the day-to-day operation of the blood collection facilities.
2. Assesses phlebotomy procedures and practices provided by phlebotomy staff and ensures quality control activities and records are maintained.
3. Visits each blood collection facility at least once a month to ensure the Standards are abided by the staff.
4. Works with the Phlebotomy team to ensure Laboratory turn-around-time (TAT) goal expectations are achieved consistently.
5. Documents and coordinates schedules for training, continuing education, safety and infection control guidelines competency verification, scheduling, supply maintenance and staffing.
6. Responsible for evaluating personnel and performing competency as required.
7. Manages, recommends, implements new or updated procedures, policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Phlebotomy certification or a certification as a medical laboratory scientist, technician or technologist.
3. Active drivers license and willingness to travel to assigned locations
4. 3-5 years of phlebotomy-related work experience, including 2-3 years of team lead/supervisory experience work required.
Preferred:
1. Associates or bachelor's degree in a biological, physical, or chemical science or related field.
