UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor! This role will supervise the daily operational functions of the pharmacy department. Act as a liaison on matters pertaining to pharmacy operations and patient care. Assume supervisory responsibility for department employees engaged in providing pharmacy services to the hospital.

 

This is a full time position that will work Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays required!

 

Responsibilities:

 

Oversee purchasing and inventory control, ensuring compliance with DEA regulations. Establish and maintain effective communication within the department and with hospital staff. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (JCAHO, Pennsylvania Department of Health, FDA, DEA, USP, OSHA). Supervise pharmacy personnel to ensure high-quality, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services. Assist in recruiting and orienting pharmacy staff, conducting performance appraisals, and addressing personnel issues. Stay updated on developments in the field through continuing education and professional engagement. Provide training and testing to ensure employee competency and maintain necessary documentation. Develop and enforce department policies and procedures. Ensure patient safety by managing staffing schedules and adjusting as needed. Prepare and monitor capital and operating budgets. Coordinate pharmacy scheduling to ensure adequate coverage. Oversee the packaging, labeling, and distribution of medications, continuously seeking improvements.
