The Supervisor, Practice Operations, under the direction of the SVP, Clinical Operations and National Medical Director is responsible for day-to-day practice operations of Somatus Medical Group. This includes but is not limited to the oversight and management of medical assistants and any office staff, ensuring reliable patient scheduling, ensuring smooth pre-visit, visit, and post-visit workflows for patients and providers, and leading the optimization of overall business performance for the practice unit. This position is located onsite at our corporate office in McLean, VA. Responsibilities Responsible for running day-to-day SMG clinical operations to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality patient centered care Direct management of non-licensed practice staff (medical assistants) including supervisory oversight, mentorship and training, and performance management Works independently and collaborates with SMG providers, nurses, and leadership to address and resolve relevant clinical issues Runs daily operational huddles with staff and weekly departmental meetings to keep staff UTD Evaluate and implement any EMR template and like changes necessary to better support practice operations. Identify and lead system and process improvement initiatives to improve practice operations Track key SMG clinical, operational, and financial KPIs and manage performance to target Ensure staff productivity and quality of work of practice staff Mentor and promote professional development of practice staff Ensure all clinical staff remain compliant with relevant legal and regulatory policies and procedures (eg. HIPAA compliance with patient calls and scheduling) Collaborates with Somatus, Inc population health operational leadership and field team leaders to facilitate better coordination of services and communication between SMG and Somatus. Promote opportunities for SMG services to help Somatus Inc reduce avoidable utilization and improve quality of care Facilitate communications with non-SMG outside provider organizations as needed Ensure timely scheduling of labs and other testing as required by the practice Ensure all clinical and practice staff maintain appropriate licensure and certifications as required by their employment agreements. Manage difficult patient relationships including direct service recovery when needed Ensure clinicians and staff are up to date with patient and provider safety training, policies, and procedures. Responsible for organizing the onboarding of new clinic staff including New Employee Orientation and any practice shadowing as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Minimum 3-5 years experience in outpatient practice operations management GED or High School Degree Experience with direct management of Medical Assistants EMR experience Preferred Batchelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience) Experience managing a telecommuting workforce Experience working in telemedicine setting with virtual visit workflows Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
