Supervisor, Project Support

Salary Range:  $102,183.00 (Min.) - $132,838.00 (Mid.) - $163,492.00 (Max.)

Job Summary

The Supervisor, Project Support is responsible for overseeing a cohesive unit of staff supporting the execution and management of enterprise programs and projects. This position ensures that projects are supported at a high level of productivity and focus on ensuring projects are properly audited.  The Supervisor supervises all aspects of running an efficient team, including hiring, supervising, coaching, training, disciplining, and motivating direct reports. The Supervisor will work closely with cross-functional teams assigned to enterprise programs and projects, to ensure accurate tracking, assessment, and reporting of project health.

 

The Supervisor will be responsible for working with ePMO leadership to arrange the annual training calendar for non-compliance related, team-level training.  In addition to training Project Specialists and other ePMO team members on support related tasks, the Supervisor will work with the appropriate personnel to arrange training for other required topics.  The Supervisor will ensure that ePMO resources understand their role in terms of financial management and reporting on their assigned projects. 

Duties

Assigned to work on process improvements required to enhance timely project execution and support the broader goals of the IT Program Delivery (ePMO) team. Work as part of the management team and participates in defining and in the implementation of process improvements to support strategic initiatives and ensure that the project documentation is accurate and consistent.

Assist management team in ensuring adherence to established project management processes and governance frameworks.

Oversees the tracking and reporting of project health, including progress, risks, and issues.  Actively participates and recommends in the development and maintenance of project metrics to track and assess project/program health and performance. 

Assist in the creation and development of reports to show the outcomes of audits and analysis to key stakeholders.

Ensure the smooth execution of projects by managing administrative tasks, coordinating resources, monitoring progress, resolving issues to guarantee projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.  Conduct periodic project and program audit initiatives.

Anticipate problems and provide alternative solutions to improve processes. 

Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring financial tracking is aligned with project goals.  Ensure team understand their role in terms of financial management and reporting on their assigned projects.

Responsible for the daily workflow and supervising the work of assigned staff, the overall efficiency and productivity of assigned team.  This role will mentor, coach, act as a resource and provide feedback on performance of assigned staff.  Assist creation and management of the non-compliance related annual training calendar.

At least 5 years of experience working in a PMO office, project, or program delivery office in a support role.

 

At least 2 years of experience inleading, supervising and/or managing staff.

 

Basic work experience and hands-on knowledge utilizing Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC), System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Agile Scrum and Kanban methodology standards and best practices.

 

Experience in developing training documents; experience interviewing (either on a panel or solo); and proven project management experience (agile or traditional waterfall).

 

Equivalency: 

Completion of the L.A. Care Management Certificate Training Program may substitute for the supervisory/management experience requirement.

 

Preferred:

Graduate of an outside Management Training Program (requires review and approval.
