About the Role:
This position, working under the supervision of the Quality Manager, is responsible for overseeing the shop floor application of Quality standards and procedures to assure product quality is met and sustained. The Quality Supervisor directly oversees and manages Quality Technicians and Sr. Quality Inspectors and is responsible for the assignment of duties and allocation of Quality team resources across all shifts.
What You Will Do: Responsible for the supervision and performance of direct reports and their assigned functions Responsible for shift scheduling including VSO assignments, shift rotations, training, Paid Time Off (PTO), breaks, overtime (OT), and backup coverage for absent Team Members Leads the communication shift crossover meeting for the Quality Team Appropriately manages within company policies and Vista Behaviors disagreements with direct reports with upmost professionalism Ensures themselves and all Team Members follow Company Health & Safety standards and requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Act as it applies to the manufacturing sector Coach, teach and mentor to further the development of Quality Technicians & Inspectors Ensure the development, training, and adherence to Quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Critical to Quality (CTQs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) for themselves and team members Responsible to support Quality Engineering in presentations for Quality related reviews, updates, or concerns to support improvement of plant metrics such as M-QCR, RACI, Reprints, Cost of Quality, and Internal Mislabel data Champions the overall Windsor Process/Product Audit System, Quality Wall (100% product inspections) and Focused Inspections (Webshell application) by leading the application, training, maintenance, verification & reporting activities Approve and assign testing and data collection through the online work order system (Infra) requested by Quality or Manufacturing Engineering teams Lead upward and downward communication of Quality issues or escalations Responsible for second-level verifications of audit failures to ensure consistency of the audit process Support production shifts regarding Quality issues by providing standards, guidelines and specific training to Operations team members Provide VSO Teams with input and feedback from Sr. Quality Inspector and Quality Technician findings, analysis, troubleshooting, inspections & audits Facilitates the setup, training, execution and reporting of incoming level II material inspections Facilitates the disposition of non-conforming material with the Quality Engineering team Facilitates the disposition of Finished Goods (Product) that have been placed on Hold with CARE in Manufacturing (CIM) and Quality Engineering as applicable Perform all essential functions of the role of Quality Technician as needed Able to complete SAP EWM system tasks as related to Quality functions Utilize and support the development of various Quickbase applications utilized for Quality Lead and/or facilitate the execution of continuous improvement projects as assigned Be actively and productively involved with cross-functional teams as a representative of Quality Maintains a high level of professionalism while working through challenging tasks Able to communicate with all levels of management within Vista Provide leadership, direction and seek to empower Team Members Support Vista’s mission, vision, strategic plan, goals, and management decisions Communicate with other Shift Supervisors and Production Managers Other tasks as required for business operations What You Need: Secondary education or equivalent experience At least 5 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance field 3-5 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment Experience with QA Management Systems Quality Certification (ASQ) or relevant experience - advantageous Can and will work shift rotation as and when requested as a business need Experience with standard Quality problem solving tools such as Fishbone, 5Why, Is/Is not Lean Training, Six Sigma Training - advantageous Strong common sense, decision-making skills and able to react with a sense of urgency Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience communicating to groups and training effectively to a broad spectrum of audiences Proven ability to transfer skills to fellow workers and direct reports in a firsthand manner Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload and meet deadlines through strong organizational, communication, planning and leadership skills Advanced computer skills with ability to learn with traditional Microsoft software (Excel, Word, outlook, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace software (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Slides)
