This position is responsible for the oversight of all programs and processes designed to evaluate, measure, and verify the electric and gas energy efficiency programs. The programs will be primarily comprised of statistical models and analyses intended to document energy and demand savings, provide an understanding as to the outcome and ways to improve current, or assist with the selection of future programs, and document compliance with regulatory and other government agencies. This position proposes solutions to issues involving diverse opinions and suggests solutions that are aligned with customer expectations and the Company’s business initiatives. This position also reviews and assesses pertinent codes, guidelines, protocols, energy savings databases and related resources to ensure compliance with savings claims, performance criteria and regulatory standards.
This is a hybrid role.
Essential Functions:
Oversees the development of annual and long-term plans for the evaluation and measurement required to verify the energy efficiency, decarbonization, and demand flexibility program savings.Oversees the development and implementation of statistical tests and analyses for the programs, ensuring they are based on credible and transparent methods and analyses which includes:Studies of energy and demand savings impacts on gas and electric energy efficiency program.Baseline studies of equipment, buildings, and customer usage patterns Found this language weird since evaluation doesn’t establish value, that’s done by the BC teams via AESCAs needed, assists with the preparation of regulatory filings in support of the Company’s energy efficiency programs.Collaborates with other supervisors and managers regarding energy efficiency strategy as it is impacted by federal and state energy policy, new programs and technology, and customer expectations.Coordinates the work supporting the program implementation groups in terms of the evaluation and measurement of new and ongoing programs and technologies.Ensures that the results of evaluations are communicated to other areas of the business, especially the teams responsible for calculating and reporting savings, to achieve compliance with regulatory mandates.Maintains an industry presence through representation and participation in industry related organizations and events.Supervises, coaches, develops and assesses staff, and ensures they possess the technical and behavioral skills required.Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Requires knowledge in the evaluation and assessment of programs and projects using a wide range of analysis and impact evaluation techniques including engineering and statistical analysis. Also requires knowledge of the electric and gas industry in either energy efficiency program evaluation, load forecasting, program planning and design, or engineering methodologies for evaluating energy savings. Requires familiarity with energy efficiency technologies and their application in all customer sectors. Requires understanding of regulatory processes and environment including the regulatory filing process. Also requires exceptional written and oral communication skills. Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., excel, access, ORACLE and SAS).Education:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Economics, Statistics, related discipline, or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree preferred.Experience:
Five (5) plus years in related activities including demonstrated experience working effectively and collaborating with a wide range of internal and external customers.Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $124,000 - $138,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.Background Information
As a regulated, investor-owned utility, Eversource Energy has been entrusted to administer energy efficiency programs for all of its customers in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. The Evaluation Supervisor will play an important role in validating the efficacy of these programs and providing input to improve the design of future programs.
