Supervisor, Repair Station, Weekend Shift (2024-135) Astronics Subsidiary Astronics AES Location Kirkland, WA Description **Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems** (AES) is seeking a Repair Station Supervisorto join our team in **Kirkland, WA** . If you are interested in working at a dynamic company with a winning culture which has been **awarded as one of Washington's Best Places to work for 15 years consecutively** , please read on! **This is a weekend shift position that will be expected to be onsite Thursday - Sunday.** **JOB SUMMARY** The Customer Return and Repair (CRR) Supervisor is responsible for planning, assigning duties, training, and maintaining personnel in the repair station to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance to regulatory and customer contractual requirements. The CRR Supervisor works in conjunction with Product Support, Program Management, and Quality Assurance to monitor product quality, manage customer problems (field and local) and implement product improvements. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** This role will follow all established regulatory certifications (FAA, EASA, UK CAA, Title 14 CFR Part 145 and Part 21, and CAAC) in addition to performing the following duties: + Works in conjunction with the next level manager and current repair station supervisor(s) to coordinate and manage priorities, personnel, and equipment to meet company turn-around-time and quality objectives. + Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the department. + Drive process improvements, continuous improvement efforts and employ lean methodologies to reduce waste and optimize profitability within the repair station to help meet demand and requirements for safety, mistake-proofing, turn-around-times, product quality, and efficient utilization of space. + Assess and baseline current employee competencies and capabilities. Establish short and long-term cross-training and career development plans for each employee based on initial assessment and future team requirements. Work in collaboration with the next-level manager, HR, and other resources to develop training/development plans for each employee. + Work with Engineering, Program Management, Product Support, Production Control and Supply Chain to: + Assess new products and design changes for impact to repair station requirements such as equipment, floor space, training, parts inventory, capacity, and documentation + Obsolete products and evaluate the impact on internal resources + Communicate failure trends + Support and/or facilitate customer and regulatory agency audits and onsite visits + Review and/or approve ECNs, service bulletins, service information letters, and program management directives + Perform supervisory responsibilities including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and compensation decisions. + Create and foster a safe, fair, and pleasant work environment through open and honest communication with equal access to the supervisor for all employees + Establish and maintain 5S standards of excellence and adherence to Operation's Enterprise Excellence Assessment (EEA) guidelines. + Supervisory point of contact to resolve issues for weekend shift employees outside of the department. + As a supervisory element on the weekend shift, responsible for identifying and reacting to environmental and facility related issues. Perform the duties as Area Coordinator during emergency situations. Coordinate with departmental area supervisors and the facilities manager for non-emergency issues. + Performs other duties as assigned. Per the Code of Federal Regulations (48 CFR - 252.223-7004 - Drug-free work force), this is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug tests. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** **Education/Experience:** + 2-year AA degree or BA/BS in technical or business degree preferred. _In lieu of degree, will consider H.S.
