BASIC FUNCTION 

Leads and directs all aspects of operations within multiple departments, with 24-hour accountability. Directly, and through subordinate leaders, staff, trains and develops department production teams for all shifts. Focuses team on meeting next and final customer needs.  Leads, directs, coaches, and manages performance and motivates such production teams.  Monitors and continuously enhances employee morale and provides and allocates rewards and recognition. Coordinates the delivery of safety, health, and other teammate support programs to team members.  Counsels, advises, and assists teams in planning and problem-solving required to complete missions, goals, and objectives.

OUTPUTS

Participates in establishing goals and standards of performance for the assigned areas. Plans, schedules, and assigns the work of the departments, and maintains work efficiency at the highest possible level at the lowest possible cost. Leads, organizes, trains, and coaches teams. Responsible for continual and rapid improvement in distribution to meet customer needs. Continuously monitors the quality of work and efficiency in the department and takes necessary corrective action to remedy deficiencies. Motivates department leaders and workers.  Appraises performance of all department personnel on the prescribed time schedule and recommends appropriate personnel action. Investigates and identify problems, determines and remedies causes of failure to meet standards, advises, and assists the appropriate support departments with the implementation of corrective action.  Arranges for proper maintenance of equipment and facilities. Participates in preparation and recommendation of the operating and capital budgets for the assigned areas, and continuously reviews and controls expenditures against such budget. Explains and enforces company policies and rules; maintains discipline, morale, and harmonious employee relations; administers disciplinary action for rule violations, misconduct, absenteeism, or deficient performance. Authorizes leaves of absence for employees and approves time off where appropriate; maintains surveillance of unsatisfactory attendance and takes necessary corrective action. Implements and monitors workplace organization. Implements safety programs and policies and conducts safety training. Investigates all injuries and near misses within the area of supervision and implements corrective actions. Continuously seeks cost reductions and recommends improvements to procedures, processes, equipment, and layout. Any other duties as assigned.

QUANTITATIVE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree, highly preferred in Business or Related Field.

Prefer 5 years prior supervisory experience in Manufacturing/Warehouse.
