Position Summary
The Resource, Recycle & Recovery (RRR) Supervisor is responsible for efficient operation of the RRR dock and shall seek to maximize MBS Sustainability initiatives. The RRR Supervisor will train, educate and hold MBS Associates accountable for proper source separation methods. This position will also maintain cleanliness and order of the dock, coordinate proper maintenance of its equipment, and track and report overall RRR results. The Resource, Recycle & Recovery Supervisor will report directly to the Manager of Sustainability.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develops and coordinates training programs to educate MBS Associates in proper source separation methods for cardboard, aluminum, co-mingled, compost, and construction recyclable materials. Ensure that all waste streams are kept separate and uncontaminated.Maintains tracking logs/records of general trash, cardboard, aluminum, co-mingled, compost, and construction recyclable materials for sustainability program reporting results. Seeks to maximize MBS total diversion rate.Seeks efficient methods of recycling or reuse of other materials like wood/plastic pallets, used cooking oil, spent light bulbs, batteries, machine oils, paints, additives, and other common operating supplies.Schedules P.T. staff to maintain the RRR dock’s efficient operation, maintain high standard of cleanliness, helping to limit odors and rodent activity.Coordinate routine repairs and preventive maintenance with the MBS resident equipment engineer and outside service providers to minimize compactor, tipper, and baler down time.Optimizes and coordinates compactor pulls and cardboard bale shipment with Waste Management service representative to minimize over storage of trash and recyclable materials, seeking to lower waste removal costs whenever possible.Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in a building or project over 1 million square feet.In depth knowledge of common waste and recycling streams. Must have experience with safety regulations and procedures.Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly. Must be comfortable speaking to and training groups of individuals.Proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint.Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
