The Warehouse Supervisor provides oversight and direction for all warehouse activities and functions.  This position must remain cognizant of production priorities and daily activities necessary to support the production schedule. The role is responsible for inventory control and ensuring an adequate supply of raw materials are on hand for production requirements. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Essential functional duties of the position

Provide day-to-day supervision of Warehouse and bulk material loading/unloading operations and employees.  Assure DOT, IATA, cGMP, ESHA and other applicable regulatory compliance for all warehouse operations and shipment of materials, products and samples. Establish shipping arrangements for products. Schedule bookings and coordinate preparation and execution of all shipments in order to meet necessary schedules, applicable regulations and specific customer requirements.  Prepare shipping paperwork and transmittal of Certificates of Analysis and notification to specified customer contacts. Coordinate packaging and shipment of DEA controlled substance materials including samples and finished products. Requisition incoming deliveries and supervise physical receipt of materials, electronic receipt in SAP, and internal distribution of received materials to meet the manufacturing schedule. Coordinate packaging and shipment of hazardous materials including samples and finished products. Specify, order, and maintain appropriate inventory of packaging materials and warehouse consumable supplies. Conduct physical inventory for finished products, intermediates, raw materials, packaging materials, and reconcile differences in computerized inventory system. Responsible for Warehouse department budget and budget forecasting Use computer skills and knowledge of chemical process manufacturing to track production data.  (Computer skills will include at a minimum spreadsheets, word processing, SAP, MRP, ADP, etc.) Plan daily activities to meet monthly and yearly production goals, communicate plan to all shifts, and review progress against the plan.  Identify process bottlenecks and implement process improvements to improve throughput and/or reduce production costs. Know, understand, and enforce process safety, environmental, and cGMP procedures for plant operations. Keep departmental Manager informed of operational, shipping, or scheduling problems. Receive returned goods and initiate investigation process. Conduct DOT training for site employees as needed to assure compliance and continuous improvement activities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The following knowledge and proficiency skills are required for this position to be acquired through a minimum of a high school diploma (some college preferred) and a least 5 years of relative experience warehousing functions. Preferred experience in FDA, DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulated chemical manufacturing. 

Good written and verbal communication skills, along with team oriented management skills. 

The ability to properly prioritize simultaneous events.

Previous experience and skills utilizing SAP are preferred.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work in a manufacturing office environment and is regularly required to enter the production area of a typical manufacturing facility which has moving mechanical parts, and may have fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, wet and /or humid conditions, low levels of toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
