The Case Manager also provides support and assists with shelter operations, answering the hotline and tending to the facilities, and other duties, under the direction of the Program Coordinator or Director. Qualifications: Required: + Bachelor s degree preferred or minimum of 4years of experience working in the Domestic Violence field + Completion of 40-hour Domestic Violence training preferred/must be completed within 6 months of hire + Domestic violence specialist certification (DVS) preferred + Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred + Good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively and independently + Knowledge of computers + Knowledge of the dynamics and issues of domestic violence survivors. + Case management experience + Demonstrates experience with and sensitivity to varying cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds, values, and attitudes + NJ Driver s license Preferred: Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable): + N/A Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions): + Day + Full-Time + 37.5 Hour Work Week Essential Functions: + Direct Services and Case Management Provide trauma-informed case management services to domestic violence victims and their children at The Safe House Handle assigned cases from admit to discharge, based on shelter guidelines and in accordance with the policies and procedures + Case Management Supervisor + Assign incoming cases as needed + Schedule and conduct regular meetings/supervision with Case Managers to ensure that shelter policies and procedures are followed + Review and ensure that Case Manager binders are organized and filed + correctly, including purple folder forms, (review) case notes, employment verification and copies of legal documents, ID s, etc. + Train new case managers on protocols and procedures specific to The Safe House protocols, policies and procedures + Ensure that food distribution process is adhered to for hotel clients, from preparing meals to collecting containers, and distribution + Hotline Answer incoming calls and provide information, admit to shelter and make referrals to other agencies as needed.
