ABM Industries is seeking a dedicated and experienced Shuttle Bus Supervisor to oversee and ensure compliance with shuttle bus operations at MCO. The Shuttle Bus Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring route performance, operator compliance, vehicle operation status, and manpower availability while ensuring exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership, transportation expertise, and a commitment to safety and service quality, in compliance with Aviation Authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities

Supervise shuttle bus operations to ensure on-time performance, operator compliance, vehicle availability, and manpower efficiency. Enforce local and company policies to protect the interests of the client and ABM. Monitor and enforce DOT standards for work hours, licensing, and safety compliance. Create daily reports on vehicle status, passenger volume, schedule adherence, incidents, and accidents. Train and mentor new Shuttle Bus Operators in route operations and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Perform driving duties as needed during emergency operations, manpower shortages, or general route support.

Weekly Responsibilities

Conduct weekly ride-alongs for driver evaluations. Generate weekly performance reports per shift and report findings to management. Manage and oversee weekly bus washing operations with on-site vendors. Investigate customer complaints and provide detailed responses with corrective actions. Replenish office supplies and maintain an organized workspace. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure efficient shuttle operations.

Supervisory Duties & Contract Compliance

As part of the contract with the Aviation Authority, Supervisors must adhere to the following requirements:

A. Supervisor Role & Leadership

Work under the direction of the Site Manager and Assistant Managers to supervise Shuttle Bus Services. Provide hands-on leadership to shuttle bus drivers and dispatchers to ensure service quality and operational efficiency.

B. Operational Versatility

Must be able to perform the duties of Shuttle Bus Driver and Shuttle Bus Dispatcher when needed. Ensure compliance with Aviation Authority requirements, including service intervals, scheduling, and equipment assignments. Any Supervisor and their replacements must receive prior written approval from the Aviation Authority.

C. Qualifications & Licensing Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid CDL in the State of Florida with the appropriate endorsements for commercial passenger bus transportation services. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role in commercial passenger bus transportation services. Proven ability to manage drivers, dispatchers, and fleet operations while ensuring regulatory compliance.

D. Commitment to Aviation Authority Operations

Must be a full-time, locally based employee exclusively dedicated to the Aviation Authority’s Shuttle Bus Service operation. Must maintain strict adherence to safety regulations, operational protocols, and service performance expectations.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of Commercial Driver License (CDL) experience (required). Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a transportation environment (preferred). Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass a DOT physical examination and meet all safety and medical requirements. Must meet all the requirements to receive a required airport security badge and customs seal. Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work Environment

Field and office-based role, requiring regular monitoring of shuttle operations, drivers, and dispatching. Fast-paced, outdoor airport environment, requiring adaptability to changing schedules, passenger demands, and operational challenges. Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of materials related to fleet operations.
