The Activity Director is responsible for developing and promoting a variety of activities that include internal and external opportunities for socialization across the religious and ethnic backgrounds of the facility/agency's clients. The Activity Director recruits, trains and supports the volunteers.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Recreational Therapy or related field. Or equivalent educ/experience. Significant, appropriate and relevant years of work experience may substitute for degree. Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association. Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. Upon hire: Completion of 36-hour activities workshop. The workshop must be conducted by an individual with a master's or bachelor's degree in recreation therapy or a closely related field, or by a registered occupational therapist. 2 years Supervisory experience. 2 years Social or recreational program experience within the past five years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting OR. Be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational assistant OR. Be eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist by a recognized accrediting bodyPreferred Qualifications:
