Supervisor - Assembly (1st Shift) Location: New Castle, IN, US, 47362 **Company Description:** Crown Equipment Corporation is a leading innovator in world-class forklift and material handling equipment and technology. As one of the world’s largest lift truck manufacturers, we are committed to providing the customer with the safest, most efficient and ergonomic lift truck possible to lower their total cost of ownership. _Work schedule is Monday - Thursday, 6am - 4:20pm._ **Primary Responsibilities:** + Coordinate the activities of assigned workcenters and take necessary action to assure performance goals are met. Performance includes meeting production schedules, productivity, safety, quality and housekeeping goals. Plan operations and methods to utilize available skills, knowledge, experience, materials, machines and tools to the best advantage of meeting performance goals. Anticipate, analyze and diagnose production problems, e.g. unavoidable delays, material shortages, tooling problems, equipment malfunctions, etc., to coordinate corrective actions. Communicate and work closely with Production Control and Manufacturing Engineering on issues related to their support of departmental operations and future manufacturing requirements of people, processes, tools, communication, information, etc. + Organize and assign work, instruct, guide and otherwise assist employees in the performance of their work. Insure that all employees are provided with the proper training and motivation to be successful at meeting all Company expectations of them. Provide leadership, direction and training for departmental employees. Act as a liaison between subordinates and upper management. Communicate Company policy enthusiastically and in concert with the intent of the policy. Communicate direction in an organized and thorough manner to departmental employees. Maintain conformance with Company work rules and policies; issue warnings for violations and administer approved disciplinary measures when necessary. Maintain close surveillance over the use of safety devises, equipment and tools, supervise departmental housekeeping and maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions and practices. Maintain close surveillance over quality practices, workmanship and methods application. + Approve weekly employee payroll hours. Process and approve employee paperwork to include vacations, personal leave, accident reports, return-to-work forms, employee improvement forms, etc. Record and monitor attendance daily. Confer with the Medical, Personnel and Safety departments in assisting with employees' questions and return-to-work information. Appraise employee performance and recommend wage adjustment or change of status. **Qualifications:** + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary as well as basic computer skills. + Prior leadership experience desired. Specialized courses or seminars in supervisory and administrative subjects would be beneficial. **Work Authorization:** Crown will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States.
