Supervisor - Building Maintenance
DescriptionEssential Functions Supervise Maintenance Mechanics in the performance of their duties. Receive Maintenance requests, set priorities, prepare cost estimates where applicable, and schedule requests to be completed. Assist the Manager in the production of cost estimate for requested projects. Inspect facility on a regular basis for deficiencies and follow through and see that the deficiencies are remedied. Schedule and follow up on all preventative maintenance issues whether with outside vendors or with staff. Prepare work area to include movement of furniture / obstructions. Lift and move tools and parts. Responsible for compliance with applicable codes and inspection and reporting of deficiencies throughout the facilities and systems. Complete timely performance evaluations for subordinates Conduct formal and informal training for subordinates Conduct formal and informal coaching and counseling with subordinates Reward and recognize superior performers Ensure that employees work safely and follow all safety rules Interviews, selects, hires and retains superior employees Additional FunctionsPerform other duties as assigned.Requirements/Educations High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience required, trade school training preferred 2 years of supervisory experience preferred Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician, plumber, HVAC mechanic, ground support, maintenance and/or machinist. Must possess good math skills Must possess computer proficiency with Microsoft Word Must possess good oral and written communication skills Must possess good customer service and leadership skills Must be able to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations Must present an overall professional appearance Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as scheduled Must be able to successfully pass a background check and receive a license from the DE Lottery Skills and knowledge to include: air conditioning/heating, electrical, kitchen, plumbing, machine repair, carpentry, painting, plastering, irrigation, turf management, landscaping and general maintenance. Must be able to read and evaluate blueprints. Must have ability to operate specialized equipment, testing equipment, controls on the equipment. Must possess knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Organizational Relationships
