Supervisor - Catering

Pay: $21.70 per hour

Job Summary  
Assist in the coordination and execution of all catering events. Manage and collaborate with a team of Supervisors, Zone Supervisors, and Food Service Workers to ensure all catering event requirements are met.
 
Primary Duties  
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review. 

Work with the Unit Manager and the Senior Catering Manager on staffing needs for all catering events to ensure each event has the proper staffing levels. Create the schedule for all employees working the catering events. Supervise and direct a team of 3-5 people during each event. 

Assist the Catering Manager with all beer, liquor, and wine orders for catering events. Assist with the ordering of all linens, Pepsi orders, papers products, and cleaning supplies for the Catering Department.   

In charge of the set up and breakdown of every catering event. Work with the client on all special requests for the event using the proper documentation. Aid the Foundation and Philanthropy department for community and fundraising events.    

Responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of all units pertaining to the Catering Department (DEA, FBI, Boardroom, Lincoln Room, and Atrium). Assist with the inventory for these venues as they relate to Catering.  

Assist with invoicing and reporting for the Catering Department as well as acting as the Catering Manager in their absence. 

Additional Responsibilities  

Assist with all cash bars for catering events.  

Ensure the upkeep of all equipment as it pertains to the Catering Department.  

Train all Zones and Food Service Workers working in the Catering Department.  

Backfill at other venues when there are no Catering events scheduled.  

Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)  

High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a full-service food venue, with bartending and catering experience required.

ServSafe certification required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

Must be thoroughly knowledgeable in the following areas: sanitation, conducting training, security, food preparation, customer relations, menu selection, safety and accident prevention, equipment maintenance.  

Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community and environment.  

Requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.  

Basic ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office software and the Catering software.
